Understanding Our Tests
What each test can tell you, how it is performed, and what you should know before you arrive. We will choose the right tool together, based on your specific needs.
Body Composition
-
What is tested?
This test uses bioelectrical impedance to estimate your body composition: fat mass, muscle mass, and fluid distribution. The results help monitor changes over time as part of your nutritional guidance.
-
How is it performed?
You stand barefoot on the device and hold the handles during the measurement. The test is brief and non-invasive; afterward, we will review the report and the meaning of the data together.
-
How to prepare?
Preparation guidelines should be coordinated with the clinic. According to the manufacturer's instructions, you must wait at least three hours after a meal and perform repeat tests under similar conditions. It is important to inform us in advance about a pacemaker, electronic implant, pregnancy, or any medical condition that might affect your suitability for the test.
-
What is important to know?
This is an estimation, and results are influenced by hydration levels and physical activity, among other factors. A fluctuation between two tests does not necessarily indicate a change in fat or muscle tissue. The analysis is evaluated within your personal and clinical context.
Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR)
-
What is tested?
A breath test that measures oxygen consumption to estimate your Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR). This data can support personalized nutritional planning, alongside your physical activity, habits, and health status.
-
How is it performed?
After resting, you sit comfortably, use a personal mouthpiece and a nose clip, and breathe normally. The measurement itself usually takes 5–10 minutes, in addition to the resting and explanation time.
-
How to prepare?
According to the manufacturer's instructions: avoid food, non-water beverages, caffeine, and physical activity for four hours prior to the test; avoid nicotine for one hour before; and rest while seated for 10–15 minutes. If you take regular medications or have difficulty fasting, coordinate with the clinic in advance. Do not alter any medical treatment on your own.
-
What is important to know?
RMR represents your energy consumption at rest, not your total energy needs for an active day. The test alone does not diagnose illnesses and does not guarantee weight loss. Test conditions will affect the results.
3D Body Scanning
-
What is tested?
An optical scan of the body's surface that creates a 3D model and measures circumferences. We can compare scans to observe changes in body shape and measurements throughout your process.
-
How is it performed?
You stand in a guided posture on a rotating platform while a sensor scans your body surface. The rotation takes about 35 seconds, plus time for setup and an explanation.
-
How to prepare?
Arrive in tight-fitting clothing, tie back long hair, and remove any bulky accessories. For follow-up scans, it is highly recommended to wear similar clothing, as the scanner also captures the garments you are wearing.
-
What is important to know?
The scan measures the surface of your body. Body composition data, if displayed, is a calculated estimate and not a direct measurement of tissues. Clothing and posture affect the comparison; the scan is not a substitute for a medical diagnosis.
